Creature Packets is an unsettling mini job-sim.
Creature Packets was made for a game-jam in only 7 days and the only way you would be able to tell (apart from reading the game page) was by its length, because the gameplay for this job-sim is solid and so are the graphics. This is easily one of my favorite games from this genre of the year for me and a perfect fit for spooky season.
The main gameplay loop is crafting and unlocking each creature packet is pretty fun and satisfying. I love that in order to place your creatures in the terrarium you don't just open the packet and drop them in, that would be too easy for kenforest, instead you have to microwave them. It would be nice if the orders were a little trickier though because the only time I messed up was just by accidentally clicking on the submit button instead of the terrarium, so I'm not even sure what happens when you get 3 and fail.
The graphics here are really appealing to me, the dithered, low-res textures combined with the drab colors and dim lighting make the room have a great atmosphere. The billboard creatures, while almost certainly a result of the time constraint, don't look at all out of place and even look good.
Overall a fun, short, horror game with a satisfying gameplay loop.
